Magic DressAre you like Gentry?

The Magic Dress:
Loving Yourself from the Inside Out

Are you like Gentry, a girl who thinks she has to be pretty and look just right? I’ve been telling my clients Gentry’s story and now I’d like you to meet Gentry, too.

Gentry, a bright and impressionable girl, is preparing for her eighth birthday party. Isolde, a witch, magically appears in Gentry’s room as she is getting dressed for her party. Isolde tells Gentry she will dress her in the most beautiful gown for her party if she lives by The Rules of The Magic Dress. Gentry agrees. THE RULES are: (1) always stay clean, eat just right and always stay lean, (2) smile very wide and always favor your very best side and (3) put your own ideas on the shelf, take care of others then yourself. Once Gentry agrees to live by THE RULES, Isolde waves her magic wand. Gentry stands in the middle of her room dressed in the most beautiful gown she has ever seen.

As the years go by, Gentry challenges THE RULES. She attempts to assert her independence. On every occasion Isolde drives her into compliance. By the time, Gentry reaches seventeen, her preoccupation with her appearance and acceptance of THE RULES leads to bulimia.

One day, in her hurry to go shopping, Gentry has an accident resulting in a near death experience. Navid, a kind and compassionate woman, is at the scene of the accident. She accompanies Gentry as she is rushed to the hospital.

While Gentry lingers between life and death, Navid tells her that she has to change her ways or she will die. While Gentry lies unconscious, she goes on a journey. Navid and Gentry travel the Compass. Along the way, Gentry is introduced to the “four principles” that lay the groundwork for her psychological and emotional shift to wellness. These precepts help Gentry recognize the importance of loving herself from the inside out.

On her journey, Gentry meets four unique and lovable characters, who become her mentors. Each one is responsible for teaching her one of the “four principles”.

Traveling first to the North, Gentry meets MADAME RADIANCE who introduces her to Principle Number 1: Love yourself from the inside out. Arriving in the East, she encounters PROFESSOR TATE, standing on a dime, who espouses Principle Number 2: Know your passions, quench your thirst, thing things out, don’t act first. Landing in the South, Gentry meets MS SMALL, who accepts herself completely for who she is, singing her very own song. Here, Gentry learns Principle Number 3: Everyone is special in their very own way. The final destination for Gentry and Navid is in the West where they meet QUEEN ROYALBALL who introduces Gentry to Principle Number 4: There is plenty to go around. Love is the only sound. When Gentry awakens she embraces her new way of life, one that is based on the four principles. You can learn the “4 principles,” too.
