Embracing Diversity

The world appears to be shrinking. With the click of a mouse, we can connect instantly to far away lands and diverse cultures. It is exciting to think of having Mumbai as our sister city. Expanding all of our horizons whether here in the United States or in India enriches each and every one of us.

Within our own borders, we in Los Angeles represent a vast array of the cultures of the world. We can stay in our own city and travel the world on a daily basis. L.A. is a melting pot of diversity. It is an opportunity to reach out and touch each other in positive ways, to appreciate different religions, customs and ways of life.

As a psychologist, I have the privilege of working with the helping men and women enhance their individual lives. I have often found clients absorbed in the American way of life, having lost touch with their cultural heritage. It is exciting to help individuals open the door, explore their roots and learn to embrace themselves fully for who they are.

Joining our voices in harmony with Mumbai, our sister city, can only help each of us value ourselves individually. We can support each other for meeting our vast positive potential.
