THE MAGIC DRESS stimulates the imagination and fosters creativity. It enhances positive self-images through the magic of live theatre. The powerful effectiveness of this genre bridges the gap between entertainment and education. It is a creative tool that can aid in the prevention of substance abuse, eating disorders, violence and other emotional problems THE MAGIC DRESS performances are geared to the age of the specific audience. Performances usually last about an hour with another half hour devoted to feedback and discussion. This feedback session focuses on exploring the concepts brought out in the story. the goal of the feedback session is to empower the audinece to think reflectively, address problems and generate solutions. PRE-PERFORMANCE questions are suppplied to help students grasp the concepts brought out in the play. POST-PERFORMANCE follow-up suggestions are given in the form of exercises and questions in order to maximize the impact of the performance on the audience. Suggestions for developing a Compass Club are given that can help students develop a positive outlet for their interests. |
